The website is finally here! If you're reading this, it must mean I've done something right.

Many of you have been on this journey with me from the very beginning — or at least through every other time I thought I was finally going to publish my book. (And yes, there have been many of those times before.)
What This Site Is
This site is meant to be a space where I can share more about OBEDIENCE, future projects, and regular updates on my publishing process. I'll also be sharing resources and tools I've found helpful along the way. If you're considering self-publishing or know someone who is, my hope is that my experiences might offer something useful.
What Is OBEDIENCE?
OBEDIENCE is a YA dystopian thriller set in a post-apocalyptic New York City, where most of lower Manhattan has been sealed off by an invisible force field generated from the Freedom Tower. This iconic skyscraper truly sits at the heart of this story, and much of my early inspiration came from how the tower changed the New York City skyline.

I wrote the first draft of OBEDIENCE in the summer of 2014, and after many long years of sitting on the back burner, I finally completed a fully revised draft on February 9, 2025. Since then, I've been navigating the publishing process and working hard to get the book ready for release by the end of the year.
Where We're At
Right now, I'm still deep in developmental edits and carefully working toward a final draft for proofreading. It's taking longer than I expected — but all the extra time is worth it. Every chapter I've finished has given me that same rush of excitement and accomplishment, and I'm finally starting to see the story come together in a way I always dreamed it would.
I can't wait to share OBEDIENCE with you soon. Please stay tuned for more updates, and get ready to preorder soon. As soon as the book is ready for preorder, it'll be announced on my socials, and this site will be updated with preorder links and pricing. Until then . . .
Happy reading,
James
